In Loving Memory

Jennie Rosa Fonnesbeck Duce
April 18, 1917 - January 20, 2009

My dear, sweet Grandmother Duce quietly left this earthly life and is now joyously reunited with her husband and many other family members. Although I feel the loss of her presence and my heart is saddened, I know that I will be with her and my grandpa again. Both my Grandpa and Grandma Duce held special places in my heart. I grew to love and appreciate the kind of people they were and the incredible lives they lived. I'm so thankful for the opportunity I had to spend time visiting grandma in Idaho Falls while living in Driggs the past two summers. She even got to come visit us in Driggs our first summer there (the picture of her holding Quinn was taken during her visit). I have many wonderful memories of my grandma and they bring comfort to me at this time. Until we meet again, I love you Grandma Duce.

My Maid

Last Saturday morning I started to clean house (like that's new around here!). Madison really wanted to be my helper so I gave her a few jobs to do. One of those jobs, which I really DO NOT enjoy doing, was cleaning the toilet. I got her started on polishing up the toilet and left her to complete the job. I happened to walk by the bathroom and this is what I see... Dear sweet Quinn giving his big sister some moral support by patting her on the back while she cleaned the toilet! It was almost as if he felt bad for her, like she was being horribly punished. It was so funny.

We took pictures of the kids before church on the first Sunday in January. How do we possibly have time to take pictures before church starts you ask. Well, we are lucky (or unlucky) enough to start church at 2:00! Quinn started his 4th month of nursery and still hasn't decided if he's really a fan or not.

Madison is now in the CTR 5 class. She loves going to Primary and has been faithfully wearing her new CTR ring. I'm just waiting for her finger to turn green!

Christmas 2008

Christmas really was wonderful this year. I think it gets more and more fun as the kids get older. It was so fun to watch Quinn & Madison open their presents, and listen to Madison talk about the day that Jesus was born. Spending time with family really was great. We spent Christmas in Brigham City with my family. We missed having Jens and Becky with us, but they were able to enjoy Christmas together in their new home in warm, sunny Arizona! We also spent a few days in Grace visiting the Bennetts, but we didn't even get out our camera while we were there. I think we were picture taking worn out!

Dancing Queen

Back in December (yes, I'm trying to play catch up) Madison's dance teacher had a mini recital the last 10 minutes of dance class. They did a ballet number and it was so cute. We took video with our old digital camera, which we've never done before. So it's not the best of quality, but I thought it would be fun for family to see Madison in action.
